  • A: You would experience two major problems: 1) Very low capacity, because the mill would struggle to break the particles. 2) Extremely rapid wear of the grinding rollers and ring, as the rock would be harder than the steel components. This would be technically possible but economically disastrous. This is why we have specialized solutions for harder materials.
  • Q: How can I find out the Mohs hardness of my rock?
  • A: If it's a known mineral, you can look it up online. If it's a mixed rock, you can perform a simple scratch test (e.g., a steel file has a hardness of about 6.5; if your rock can scratch the file, it is harder than 6.5).
