  • A: Yes, for a high-quality product. Grinding the quicklime into a powder (e.g., 200 mesh) greatly increases its surface area. This allows for a much faster, more complete, and more easily controlled hydration reaction, resulting in a superior final product.
  • Q: The hydration process creates a lot of steam. How do you manage that?
  • A: This is a critical design feature. The steam generated during the exothermic reaction is captured by a hood and ducted to a pulse jet dust collector. The collector captures any fine lime particles carried in the steam, returning the valuable product to the system and releasing only clean water vapor into the atmosphere.
